| DocRender, is a Domino.Doc utility that renders over 280 different file types to PDF format. Using DocRender you can replace/convert any documents in your Domino.Doc library to PDF. DocRender can also be used to render documents to PDF when viewed from the web or notes client. Users have the ability to edit the document in its native file format and then have those documents displayed as PDF.
DocRender is perfect for those who need to workflow documents to various users without worrying about whether or not the users have that particular application available to them to edit the document. You can just route the PDF to all users. DocRender is also perfect for those who want to post documents to the web or make those documents available to a variety of users. You can continue to use the original file format internally, e.g. Word, however only the PDF will be available to web users for viewing.
In order to run DocRender you will need to have a PDF rendering application installed. Cobra's DocRender Interfaces with a variety of Rendering engines. The only requirement is there must be an INPUT QUEUE and an OUTPUT QUEUE being monitored by the engine. Cobra recommends the activePDF conversion software. Several of the installation defaults of DocRender are based on the activePDF software directories.
You can download the activePDF evaluation software from the activePDF website (click here). You will need to download the activePDF DocConverter and the activePDF Server software. Once you have the activePDF software installed and working properly you can then install DocRender and create a configuration document with all the appropriate paths.
